Nonprofit organizations requesting funding for program or project support may apply for a Board Grant. The foundation accepts applications for funding requests up to $25,000.

Board Grants are very competitive and must meet eligibility requirements as outlined in our Program Guidelines. We encourage you to review the Program Guidelines before submitting an application to ensure that your project qualifies for funding.

The Foundation requires a Preliminary Application in order to determine which proposals best fit our funding priorities. Upon acceptance of the Preliminary Application, an organization will be contacted by a staff member to formalize your grant request.

Application Process

Please send in a Preliminary Application and submit the request on-line. You will also be required to submit a copy of your IRS 501(c)(3) Determination Letter and the first page (signed / dated) of your current year’s CHAR 500 with the New York State Attorney General Charities Bureau.

If your Preliminary Application is selected for further consideration, staff will contact you to submit the required additional information. This may include the following:

  • Program Budget
  • Annual Operating Budget
  • Recent Financial Statements including the Form 990
  • Bids/estimates for capital projects

Staff will review the additional information requirements in detail.
