RCSF is committed to supporting projects that enhance the quality of life in our communities. Please read about a few recent grants that the Foundation proudly awarded.
Signature Food Pantry Program
Since 2008, the Richmond County Savings Foundation’s Food Pantry Program has served as a cornerstone of its commitment to combating food insecurity across Staten Island. Through this signature initiative, the Foundation has awarded nearly $3 million in grants to support a network of local partners, including food pantries, meal delivery services, and organizations serving seniors and vulnerable populations. This sustained investment has enabled community organizations to expand their reach, enhance food distribution efforts, and respond to increasing demand—particularly during times of economic hardship. By strengthening the capacity of frontline providers, the Food Pantry Program continues to play a vital role in ensuring that individuals and families throughout the borough have reliable access to nutritious food.
The Neighborhood Clean-Up Program
Since 2022, Richmond County Savings Foundation has proudly provided funding in the amount of $150,000 to local nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing the cleanliness and beauty of our borough. Through this initiative, funding supports the purchase of essential tools and supplies used in neighborhood, park, and community garden cleanups. These resources empower volunteers and organizations to carry out hands-on, on-site efforts that directly improve local spaces, foster community pride, and create healthier environments for residents. By supporting grassroots cleanup programs, the Foundation continues its commitment to strengthening neighborhoods and promoting a more vibrant, sustainable community for all.
College of Staten Island Business Building
The Richmond County Savings Foundation Atrium is in the College of Staten Island’s new 2M School of Business building. The formerly empty 75,000 square foot building was transformed to include a renovated second floor south wing and a beautiful glass-enclosed atrium entranceway. The construction added ten classrooms and several faculty offices. The RCSF Atrium provides access to the second floor and serves as a welcoming area for students and visitors. The newly renovated building provides improved facilities and opportunities for both students and faculty.
Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center
The Foundation’s support to the Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center enabled the organization to create the RCSF Family Hospice Comfort Lounge. As part of a larger renovation to create a hospice unit on Eger’s 8th floor, the new Family Lounge was designed in a way that allows maximum flexibility and offers an environment to express comfort and caring when reaching end-of-life. The Lounge is a place where family members can be close to loved ones when needed most as well as a place where family members can meet with both staff and clergy.
Christmas in Richmond Town
Richmond County Savings Foundation is a proud sponsor of the latest installment of Christmas in Richmond Town presented by the Staten Island Historical Society. This grant will support the transformation of Historic Richmond Town into an interactive holiday village where community members can come to enjoy festivities and holiday treats together.
Staten Island Museum
Richmond County Savings Foundation is proud to announce our support for the new home of the Staten Island Museum, a facility which reflects the Staten Island Museum’s commitment to integrating art and design with education and exploration across disciplines. The Museum’s opening will highlight two exciting exhibitions that we are sponsoring: Return of the Mastodon, the Museum’s signature exhibit and From Farm to City, a Legacy Exhibition inspired by the Museum of the City of New York’s 2012 exhibition, From Farm to City: Staten Island 1661-2012.
